Need Help Moving Tattoo Parlor Equipment?

The most tiring aspect of transitioning to a new tattoo parlor is the time it takes for the packing and moving of your goods. Even if you do get professional packers and movers, the job is time taking. This list will ensure timely, efficient packing and a smooth move.

Coordinating with Your Society

There are few regulations which must be observed if you are living in a gated community or a society. Some of these rules relate to permission of commercial vehicle entry in the premises. Other rules define the hours during which activities such as vehicle entry, premise parking etc. can be done. Remember to inform your society at least a day before the move. It will ensure that there are no coordination problems or permit issues at the time of the actual packing and moving.

Getting a Correct Estimate

Taking an estimate from your packing and moving partner involves more than just pricing. Do ask them about the approximate volume of your household goods and the estimated time it will take for them to complete the packing. This will give you a fair idea of when you will be done with the entire activity. One trusted company that has reasonable prices and offers professional services is a reliable Moving Company in Springfield IL.

Packing and Moving the Valuables

Pre-packing your valuable items is a fantastic idea. You may wonder why should you get involved when you have already hired a professional service. The reason is simple – when it comes to jewelry and other valuables, it is best to keep matters in your own hands. Have them packed and kept aside so you don’t have to worry about their safety during the actual move.

Availing Handy-Man Services

Even the best packing and moving companies may not employ specialist services. These include dismantling split-ACs or ceiling mounted TVs or any similar installed electronic items. If you feel you may need a handyman for your tattoo parlor, consult with the respective electronic company to understand the best way to go about it. Alternately, ask your packer and mover if they can provide such services in advance, or seek help from Movers Springfield by visiting them on the web or calling (217) 280-4665.

Parlor Update: Ground Mole Problems

Ground Mole Problems - Frontier Wildlife

Last time we posted on the blog, we filled you guys in on our ground mole problems and the landscaping we did to renovate the new parlor.  We want to start by saying that Bruce, the professional animal control expert we hired from Frontier Wildlife Control did an absolutely wonderful job solving our initial parlor problems and got rid of 3 moles that had been doing some massive damage to the landscape of the shop.

Bruce let us know that during the winter, moles can become more prevalent in some areas and we noticed that some of the neighbor stores across the road to us had mole tunnels that protruded from the front yards of their buildings. So, we went over there today and gave them Frontier Wildlife’s website and number since they did such a stellar job for our small business. We were able to obtain affordable animal control in Madison County thanks to Bruce.

Some people believe in using “green” methods for getting rid of moles. Many animal control centers can furnish traps that allow people to trap the animals and release them elsewhere. This can be a laborious and difficult process, however, and there is no guarantee that all the moles in a vicinity will be trapped. Just one pair of moles can produce seven new infants every thirty days.

There are some old wives tales about getting rid of ground moles that are decidedly the wrong approaches to take. For example, it does not work to stick a garden hose into a hole and fill the tunnel with water. The mole will simple leave and relocate a few feet away, possibly where it can do even more damage. Another incorrect method for getting rid of ground moles is to use poison gas. This method can make you very ill and can also poison your grass.

All in all, the most effective way of getting rid of ground moles is to hire a qualified professional pest removal specialist. These specialists understand the behavior of these animals and know how best to deal with them when the moles become problematic. They know that different methods of getting rid of moles work for different situations and are trained to know which to employ and why.

To conclude, All parlors are coming along well and we are about to release a new design book that we put together from 4 of the tattoo artists that work closely with us. We will be giving the blog updates on that as soon as we can, but this post was mainly to credit how great our store is coming along and we owe a large part of that to Bruce, the ground mole removal expert that gave us a great price. We were expecting thousands of dollars to pay especially due to the damage to the yard, but Bruce gave us a flat fee per animal he removed them all within a few days.

Have a Wildlife Emergency? Call 618.391.0321 and ASK FOR BRUCE IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY ANIMAL CONTROL PROBLEMS IN EDWARDSVILLE OR GLEN CARBON! CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.  Super easy going guy that handles all animal control issues, from raccoon removal to ground mole removal to coyote removal to skunk removal. He does it all.

Ground mole removal fairview heights

Greetings everyone! It’s been awhile since our last post and we wanted to fill everyone in on the latest renovations we have been doing to our tattoo parlor and tips how to improve your own parlor. We have a few underground parlors in Madison & St. Clair County in the metro east and one of our locations we just redid some landscaping and found out we had some Ground Mole Issues!

What are Ground Moles?

A mole does not look like a pest but it indeed is, Moles can cause a lot of damage to your lawn overnight. They can mess up the lawn in one night and when you wake up in the morning you will be forgiven to think that there some cows grazing on your rather well-manicured lawn in the night. Molehills are very ugly to look at on a well-maintained lawn and not only are they ugly but they also dangerous to human beings. If you tripped over a molehill you are likely to get an ankle spring. The burrowing of the moles can completely mess up your lawn or garden and you will need to act very fast so as to stop more damage.

Moles are actually not the direct cause of destroying your lawn but rather their activities which are something we cannot avoid because it is natural and that is their way of habitation. Moles burrow and interfere with the root network of the grass and also the roots of the flowers in the flower garden but above all, it is the food that they are after on the lawn that leads them to destroy the lawn. The Professional Wildlife Control Expert that came to our parlor mentioned that Ground Mole Removal Fairview Heights was his most popular area and that if we knew any residential houses or commercial businesses that wanted affordable mole removal, to call 618.391.0321!

How Can They Ruin Property

Moles feed on earthworms, slugs, beetle larvae and other small vertebrates that move around the ground and in search of these insects, the mole destroys the lawn.

Their long snouts which are good for burrowing and their tough rough feet which help them in digging out soil are responsible for the soils on the lawn and the molehills which can be done within a short while. Since moles are always hunting for food, they do all this activity all night long. It is therefore wise to find a solution to this problem else the lawn will be uneven as the moles will make more burrows and more molehills will appear on your initially flat lawn.

Better your tattoo parlor, home, or business by doing some exterior landscaping. While you are at it, call a professional wildlife removal service to get rid of moles, squirrels, skunks, or raccoons to ensure they are not ruining your property or scaring away your clients! We highly recommend Frontier Wildlife Control because they offer high quality, quick removal at an affordable and fair rate.

Using Massage Lotion on New Tattoos

Massage Lotion

Skin Type

Skin type can affect what kind of product that is used. Common skin types include normal, dry, sensitive, and oily. Natural and organic skincare products are made to work well on the skin. They are especially useful for people with sensitive skin. Mineral oil has a drying affect so people with dry skin should avoid products containing mineral oil.

Massage Oils

If you use massage oil, it is important to consider your own needs. Many oils stain so you may opt for a non-staining product. You should consider the consistency of the oil. There are a variety of oil textures and scents. If you have skin conditions such as acne, Jojoba oil, almond oil, and grapeseed oil are good choices because they are light. They are also good for people with acne. There are special products for feet conditions. Tea tree oil is good for fungus. Sesame oil is often used in Ayurvedic massages so they are usually thick and heavy. Olive oil is also thick and has a strong smell. Avocado oil is a great moisturizer.

How Does Massage Lotion & Oils Help With New Tattoos?

The risk of damage to a new tattoo is great – it can get infected, or the ink can get scratched or faded. You spent time, care, and lots of money in developing your body art – don’t you want to protect it? Yet many tattoo lotions contain ingredients like petrolatum, a waxy substance that coats the skin so thickly that it prevents it from breathing at all – and it is oxygen that your skin needs to heal. Some lotions contain parabens, which are associated with skin cancer. Finally, others contain alcohol, which irritates your skin and dries it out at exactly the time that you need to keep your skin moist! These are ingredients that you should make sure are not in any lotion you apply to tattooed skin.

By contrast, there are many ingredients that are excellent for a healing tattoo and should be included in any effective tattoo lotion. One is tea tree oil, which promotes healing and will help your inked skin heal faster. Another is witch hazel, which reduces inflammation and itching. Witch hazel will provide immense relief during the itchiest periods of your tattoo’s healing process. Another essential ingredient is zinc oxide – a healthy sunscreen that protects against the sun’s harmful UV rays that can be particularly damaging to a healing tattoo. Vitamins A and E are also important in such a lotion as they moisturize and nourish skin, and vegetable glycerin helps the skin to retain moisture as well. All of these ingredients are crucial in helping a tattoo heal, and ought to be present in any lotion you buy. If you are looking for the best massage lotion to heal your new tatoo, check out to learn more.

Where to Place Your Tattoo?

Deciding which part of your body your tattoo will go on is the first decision you need to make. Tattooing – Historical Overview & Top 5 Health Dangers

Humanity’s incurable penchant for additional beauty is all-pervasive in the current world. In fact, we’ve evidently seen individuals who would even willingly shorten their lifespans by a couple of years if this outlandish acquiescence availed a measly iota of more physical gorgeousness. This explains why tattooing hasn’t lost relevance among us, many years after its first recorded entry into the widespread society unnumbered centuries gone. New tattoo techniques will help tattoos develop in the future.

As such, this brief article delves into a few important facts and novel tips regarding this time-honored self-beautification culture. Continue reading to learn some essential historical details about tattoos, and also know the health risks associated with tattooing.

A Brief Historical Overview of Tattoos:

Tattooing is indisputably one of the few ageless human practices that have tenaciously remained remarkably relevant throughout multiple epochs. Scores of veritable historical and archeological findings disclose the intriguing fact that external body decoration activities started in the Neolithic times. Nonetheless, substantially confusing arguments among dating specialists and fossil examiners haven’t this otherwise simple subject entirely without debate.

Specifically, the discovery of crude tattooing paraphernalia in certain European enclaves has led to the creditable conclusion that the practice was manifestly rife across Europe during the Upper Paleolithic eras. Needless to say, such antiquated fossil proofs of ancient body titivation undertakings present betray the sharp contrast between primordial and the new tattoo techniques used today.

Nevertheless, the extant proof of man-designed bodily adornment on a mummified mortal only dates back to the 4th millennium BC. Otzi the Iceman – this is the oldest corporeal evidence of tattooing. The internationally studied antique find(an extremely old human cadaver), is convincingly estimated to have died between 3370 and 3100 BC.

Further, resoundingly tell-tale observations lend enormous credence to the universal concurrence that artificially emblazoned epidermal marks are as almost old as our first earthly parents. As if to emphatically corroborate this possibly meritorious claim, all continents own a fair share of archaeological artifacts in 49 olden mummies with unmistakable skin etchings.

Setting aside the thorny question of how and when tattooing began, we all at least acknowledge the insurmountable truth that this cosmetic procedure is unprecedentedly popular presently. However, many largely remiss self-embellishment enthusiasts don’t seem to comprehend the documented health risks tattooing poses. Below is a short highlight of the top dangers triggered by this otherwise well-meant cosmetic process.

Top 5 Health Dangers Associated with Tattooing:

1. Temporary and permanent allergy-linked reactionary hyperpigmentation, unsightly blemishes, as well as the highly likely cases epidermal illnesses.

2. Inability to donate blood – if you’ve just undertaken an on-skin decoration procedure, say within the past one week, odds are quite decent that you’re not an eligible blood donor.

3. Hematoma – A hematoma is simply a bruise. One of your blood vessels may suffer accidental incision as you’re tattooed.

4. Endangered lymphatic system – this means that some foreign elements may gradually accumulate in your lymph nodes and bring about catastrophic results in the end due to continual increase in toxicity levels.

5. Possible MRI Complications – The skin areas with artificial marks may become susceptible to lethal burns during Magnetic Resonance(MRI) diagnostic examinations.

History of Tattooing

History of Tattooing

Tattoos have become rather popular in the recent past. They serve different purposes to those who wear them. To some, they are the ultimate definition of style and glamor while to others they carry deep sentimental value. Regardless of why you wear a tattoo, or why you want to get one, it is important that you learn a bit of history regarding tattoos.

The Origin of tattoos

It is argued that the practice of tattooing dates way back to about 12000 B.C. Although there is no scientifically accurate proof of this, one only has to look at the ancient Egyptians to realize the truth of this statement. Some of the eternally preserved mummies of Egypt have tattoos on their bodies. It goes without saying that tattooing is millennia old.

Tattooing in Asia

You will be surprised to learn that in some ancient civilizations, and especially in Asia, tattoos were not always a mark of grandeur and beauty. One such civilization is China. In ancient China, tattoos were used to mark criminals. The case was the same in Japan. The Japanese tradition was to mark criminals using rings- the more crimes one committed, the more the tattoos they got. In such an era, having a tattoo was not exactly enviable.

However, the Japanese tradition changed over time. In Japan, only royalty was allowed to dress flamboyantly and elaborately. This led commoners to turn to tattoos as a way of substituting for their lackluster dressing. It was only a matter of time before tattooing became a full- fledged form of art, which is a practice that lives on to this day.

Borneo women

But tattoos were not always frowned upon in the entire world. For Borneo women, having a tattoo was something to be proud of. The Borneo people hold weaving in very high esteem, and a woman who could weave well had a long list of aspiring suitors. As such, Borneo women would engrave beautiful and elaborate tattoos on their skin to show their prowess in weaving in a bid to attract suitors.

There is yet another group of people to whom tattoos held deep religious significance. Some would get tattoos to help them keep evil at bay. One vivid example is the pentagram, which is basically a star with five edges. People who get this tattoo often believe that it will protect them from evil forces.

Modern Perception

Today, nearly everyone who wants to get a tattoo can get it- for whichever purposes they intend it to serve. The next time you want to get a tattoo, you can pride yourself on knowing a little history of tattooing.

Are You Aware Of The Risks Of Having A Tattoo?

Many people are having tattoos done nowadays as they are currently very fashionable. Even top celebrities are having them done. However most people are not fully aware of the potential health risks of having a tattoo. This article will explain the health risks for tattoos.

Risk 1:

There are several risks in all and although they are generally rare, you should still be aware of them. The first of which is the risk of getting an infection. If you get a tattoo done you will soon see if you have suffered an infection because the affected area of the skin will be red and swelling. This happens as a direct result of the tattoo artist using unsterilized equipment and needles so you should always make sure you use a professional, licensed tattoo parlour who sterilizes all of their equipment. If you’re not sure, always ask and insist on this before they start any work.

Risk 2:

This is so important because not only can you get a nasty infection, but you can also get more serious blood-borne diseases as well through unsterilized equipment. So you’re potentially at risk of getting hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV in extreme cases.

Risk 3:

As well as the risk of getting an infection or disease, another risk associated with getting a tattoo is skin disorders or granulomas. These are little bumps that appear on the skin around the tattoo and are often a result of an adverse reaction to the tattoo ink being inserted into the skin.

Risk 4:

Another possible risk is the risk of getting an allergic reaction. This happens in very few cases but it is nevertheless a possibility. Unfortunately the only way you will find out is after you have your first tattoo applied. There is no where of knowing beforehand.

Risk 5:

The final risk is one everyone contemplating getting a tattoo will be aware of and that’s the risk of not liking the tattoo design, either straight after it’s been applied or in later years. A tattoo is permanent and you will have to live with it for the rest of your life, which is why the decision over the tattoo design, and indeed the choice of tattoo artist, is so important.

If you are subsequently unhappy with a tattoo then you can either live with it or decide to have it removed. This removal procedure brings additional risks because it is not always completely successful and may leave scarring or skin discoloration.

Overall though for most people, the action of getting a tattoo done passes without any complications. There are small risks of course but most people end up delighted with their chosen tattoo design and encounter few problems. As long as you choose a professional tattoo artist who uses sterile equipment, and take your time choosing a tattoo design you are happy with, then you should end up delighted with any tattoos you have done.
